* The Comtec product has undergone several enhancements since being merged into the Fuelstar operation. New advances in the technology indicate that whatever savings could be achieved by the Comtec product can now be substantially improved, perhaps doubled.

The above represents just a small cross section of marine installations but is indicative of the vessels involved, their power source and the Fuelstars installed.

Fuelstar has application in all marine engines ranging from outboard motors (both petrol and two-stroke) to container ships using fuel oil.

The Fuelstar provides a more complete fuel burn. This results in

  • reduced fuel consumption (at least 8% but frequently 15 to 20% in boats and ships)
  • improved power output and increased torque (frequently 5%)
  • reduced emissions; smoke, particulates, nitrogen oxides, 'greenhouse gases'
  • cleaner engine oil, thus improved lubrication, cleaner internal engine operating surfaces

The Fuelstar product is designed to prevent gelling of diesel fuel in cold conditions and prevents diesel bacteria prevalent in tropical and sub-tropical areas.

Fuelstar has particular application with biodiesel. This fuel type is susceptible to crystallization and degradation resulting in the blocking of injectors and filters. Fuelstar disrupts the crystallization processes thus preventing this occurrence.

In more modern diesel engines installed with soot traps, the Fuelstar tends to prevent the blocking of traps thus eliminating costly down-time.

Life of product: 25,000 engine hours.
